Our journey begins in the heart of South Africa’s capital, Pretoria (2 nights), with a relaxed introduction to the country’s rich heritage, including a visit to the iconic Nelson Mandela statue at the Union Buildings. From there, we explore local apiary sites, where you’ll open your very first African beehive. And throughout the journey, you’ll enjoy exceptional South African cuisine and wine.
The second leg of our journey takes us to the breathtaking 5-star Kambaku River Lodge, perched on the banks of the Crocodile River and overlooking the Kruger National Park. From this remarkable setting, you’ll enjoy all meals with uninterrupted river views before drifting off to sleep to the sounds of the African bush.
During our stay, we’ll visit a local beekeeper to learn about honey production and the vital role of pollination in the ecosystems surrounding Kruger. You’ll taste locally produced meads, embark on unforgettable game drives in search of the Big Five and witness how beehives are used to protect iconic trees from elephants — a powerful example of nature working in harmony.
At the conclusion of the safari, you’ll return to OR Tambo International Airport, where you may either journey home or choose to extend your stay to explore Cape Town and some of South Africa’s other exceptional destinations.

The next stage of our journey takes us to the iconic Victoria Falls. Here, we’ll explore the Falls, learn how bees help support peaceful coexistence between elephants and local communities, and meet community members leading a start-up beekeeping project to protect vegetable crops. You’ll work with both Top Bar and Langstroth hives, opening hives and harvesting honey to taste.
An evening sundowner cruise on the mighty Zambezi River above the Falls promises an unforgettable experience, while downtime at Explorers Village allows you to relax by the pool, enjoy cocktails and savour delicious local cuisine.
Optional activities are available for those seeking extra adventure, including a helicopter flight over the Falls, a thrilling jet boat ride below the Falls, or bungee jumping.
At the end of the tour, you’ll return to OR Tambo International Airport, with the option to fly home or extend your journey to explore Cape Town and other remarkable destinations across South Africa.
